Description
This a traditional Log Cabin pattern with a twist featuring a star in the center. The fabric is different prints in shades of black, taupe, gold and cream. Stitch-in-the-ditch hand-quilting highlights the pieces. The border is a historic style floral print. The backing is solid cream, and the makers signature is in the upper-right-hand corner. This quilt is made by a local artisan and features hand-stitched quilting.
About This Pattern:
The Log Cabin quilt pattern dates back to when Abraham Lincoln was running for office. Women couldn’t vote, but they supported Lincoln by creating the log cabin quilt pattern. During the era of the Underground Railroad, a log cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home indicated a safe house.

King (109” W x 116” L)
A regular king mattress measures 76″ wide and 80″ long, so this quilt would have a 16.5-inch drop on each side.
A California king mattress measures 72″ wide and 84″ long, so this quilt would have an 18.5-inch drop on each side.
All quilts are long enough for a significant drop at the foot and a nice pillow tuck at the top, eliminating the need for pillow shams.
