Description
This traditional Log Cabin pattern features a framed portrait of a buck and doe in the center. The diamond shapes are made by using contrasting light and dark fabrics in half of the log cabin square. The color palette is warm and cool earth tones to match the central panel. The backing is a sponge style print in shades of gray. The quilting is hand stitched. This is an Amish made quilt.
Measurements:
King (114″ W x 116″ L)
A regular king mattress is 76″ wide and 80″ long, therefore this quilt would have an 19″ drop on each side.
A California king mattress is 72″ wide and 84″ long, therefore this quilt would have a 21″ drop on each side.
All quilts are long enough to allow for a significant drop at the foot of the bed as well as a nice pillow tuck at the top. Pillow shams are not needed.
About This Pattern:
The Log Cabin quilt pattern dates back to when Abraham Lincoln was running for office. Women were not permitted to vote during this time period. They demonstrated their support for Lincoln by creating the log cabin quilt pattern. During the era of the Underground Railroad, a log cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home indicated a safe house.
