The Log Cabin pattern forms a diamond design with cherry red, maroon, raspberry pink, light pink, and cream. Contrasting light and dark fabrics create the diamond shapes, symbolizing life’s joys and sorrows. The joys are represented by light fabric, and the sorrows by dark fabric, blending together to form the log cabin square. All fabrics, from cream to shades of red, feature delicate designs like filigree leaves, roses, or lace. The backing is solid off-white. Hand quilting enhances the elegance with stitch-in-the-ditch on the main body and decorative borders on the edge.

The following measurements are for your reference for how the quilt will fit your bed. The drop is simply the difference in size between the mattress and the quilt, allowing the quilt to drape over the edges.
A Regular King Mattress: Dimensions: 76″ wide x 80″ long.
Quilt drop: 17″ on each side (which means the quilt hangs 17″ over the sides of the mattress)
A California King Mattress: Dimensions: 72″ wide x 84″ long.
Quilt drop: 19″ on each side (which means the quilt hangs 19″ over the sides of the mattress).
All quilts are long enough to allow for a significant drop at the foot of the bed as well as a nice pillow tuck so there is no need for shams.
About This Pattern:
The Log Cabin quilt pattern has a rich history that dates back to Abraham Lincoln’s presidential campaign. Women, who couldn’t vote at the time, used this pattern to show their support for Lincoln. During the days of the Underground Railroad, a Log Cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home proudly signaled a safe house for escaping slaves.
