Description
The traditional Log Cabin pattern with a star shape in the center in brown, beige, and maroon floral prints. The star points and diamond shapes are made by using contrasting light and dark fabrics in half of the log cabin square. The backing is a marbled beige with the quilter’s initials in the bottom corner.
Measurements:
Queen (100″ W x 110″ L)
A queen mattress is 60″ wide and 80″ long, therefore this quilt would have a 20″ drop on each side.
All quilts are long enough to allow for a significant drop at the foot of the bed as well as a nice pillow tuck so there is no need for shams.
About This Pattern:
Log Cabin quilts are dated back to when Abraham Lincoln was running for office. Because women could not vote, they made log cabin quilts to show their support for him as he lived in a log cabin. During the era of the Underground Railroad, a log cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home indicated a safe house.
Made by Amish quilter, Annie
