Description
A traditional Log Cabin pattern arranged in a diamond shape with fabric in shades of purple and shades of soft gray. Contrasting light and dark fabrics create the diamond shapes, symbolizing life’s joys and sorrows. The joys are represented by light fabric, and the sorrows by dark fabric, blending together to form the log cabin square. The dark pieces on the edge of some blocks create another element of subtle geometric design. Some fabrics are solid colors, while others have small-scale prints featuring designs like hearts, leaves, florals, swirls, or dots. The backing is violet purple in a delicate vine print off-set dark purple binding. The quilt could be reversible if you wished. Hand-stitched quilting enhances the charm of this quilt on the main body and borders on the edge.
Made by Amish couple, Linda and Elam, who work together to compose their quilts. Elam selects the fabric combination and Linda pieces the blocks.

A Queen Mattress: Dimensions: 60″ wide x 80″ long.
Quilt drop: 20 inches on each side
All quilts are long enough to allow for a significant drop at the foot of the bed as well as a nice pillow tuck so there is no need for shams.
About This Pattern:
The Log Cabin quilt pattern has a rich history that dates back to Abraham Lincoln’s presidential campaign. Women, who couldn’t vote at the time, used this pattern to show their support for Lincoln. During the days of the Underground Railroad, a Log Cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home proudly signaled a safe house for escaping slaves.
